Welp invests €10 million in a new factory in Mediaș, Romania

The German group Welp, which includes the company Dressel & Hoffner International, is investing €10 million in a new factory in Mediaș.

The company will manufacture armored components for vehicles and machinery, as well as assemblies and subassemblies for armored systems, within the new production unit.

WELP Group, which has been operating in Romania for eight years, is currently investing in a new factory. In recent years, we have shifted our focus toward new markets such as the defense industry and the commercial sector, which we supply with special components and armored solutions. These products are currently manufactured in various countries, and with this new investment, we aim to bring that production here to Mediaș.

We are investing €10 million so that, in the future, we can produce these components at this new site, especially considering the growing demand. At the old location, we will continue to focus on the automotive industry and produce interior and exterior components. Additionaly, we have planned new investments there also,” said Ronald Gerschewski, CEO & Shareholder of WELP Group, as quoted by Monitorul de Mediaș.

The factory will initially cover 10,000 square meters, with plans to expand by an additional 16,000 square meters. Construction is expected to be completed in the first part of 2026, and the investment will create 200 new jobs.
